Besides being a film maker, Tim Burton is a writer. The Girl with Many Eyes is a story taken from the book "The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy".

One day in the park
I had quite a surprise.
I met a girl
who had many eyes.
She was really quite pretty
(and also quite shocking!)
and I noticed she had a mouth,
so we ended up talking.
We talked about flowers,
and her poetry classes,
and the problems she'd have
if she ever wore glasses.
It's great to now a girl
who has so many eyes,
but you really get wet
when she breaks down and cries.

  1. mmm I don't understand the meaning of poem
both speak about a lot things but the problem is that she cries, you get wet.
she is quite shocking because she havs more than two eyes but he knows that she is special.
he talked her because she is pretty and unsual maybe if she were normal and ugly he hadn't talked her.

  2. I find it very interesting from what I understand talks about the appearance of people, not always possible to decide upon a person by their looks but by his nature, for it must first meet with that person. I found very interesting and important.

    xD! MECG

  3. well, probably the writer wanted to show not a woman who is ugly because the eyes; he wanted to show a girl who have a really incredible virtue, she can see everything around her, but the autor wish to show that is not easy living with many eyes, because the woman's tears that he mentioned in the poem.

  4. I really liked this poem, it's different and it's not about 'love' as poems use to be. Ahh, and it's kind of funny to imagine the story xD. I hope nobody makes this girl cry, it'd be a big disaster haha.
